Prof. Igor V. Komarov (pictured), head of supramolecular chemistry chair of Institute of High Technologies, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, has been awarded by a Georg Forster Research Prize this year. The award is granted by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in recognition of a researcher's entire achievements to date to academics of all disciplines whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and beyond and who are expected to continue developing research-based solutions to the specific challenges facing transition and developing countries. Igor V. Komarov’s nomination was made by German scientists - chemists and biologists from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
In May 27, 2013, Vice-Rector for Research of TSNUK, professor S.A. Vyzhva, Head of International scientific and technological cooperation and technology innovation, professor V.A. Zaslavsky, Head of Department of the Institute of High Technology, professor V.A. Skryshevsky, Senior researcher S.V. Litvinenko had meeting with Director of the Center for Technology Transfer INSA (Lyon, France) Dr. Marc Le Gal.
Vice-rector for research and educational work (international relations) P.Bekh had meeting with prof. Magali Phaner-Goutourbe (Vice-Rector of the International Affairs of Ecole Central, Lyon,France). The prospects of organization of double diploma and Collaboration Agreement between the TSNUK and Ecole Centrale are discussed. Prof. Magali Phaner-Goutourbe gave a lecture on " States on the art in the use of atomic force microscopy" for masters of Institute of High Technology. Besides, prof. Magali Phaner-Goutourbe also met with bachelors of Radiophysics Department and present information about education programs for foreign students at Ecole Central.
We congratulate postgraduate student A. A. Tsihonya who has successfully defended his PhD thesis "Influence of near-field effects on the optical properties of nanosystems" (scientific advisor : Prof. V.Z.Lozovski).
During the last six months, the department has actively cooperated with universities abroad. Under the Euler Program framework, postgraduate student Tetyana Mishakova and M.Sc.Mykola Sakhno have worked for one month in the Technical University of Chemnitz (Germany) in the group of Prof. Dr. Manfred Albrecht, where they have learned state-of-art thin films production methods (including films with special magnetic properties). A number of samples have been produced and investigated by means of atomic force microscopy methods.
