Abstract: NOVELTY - The white LED (100) has a LED chip (110) mounted at the bottom surface of a reflector cup (120). The LED chip is surrounded by a transparent resin (151). A phosphor layer (150) is formed on the transparent resin. A light transmitting layer (160) is formed on the surface of the phosphor layer, to form embossing pattern on the phosphor layer surface. The light incident on the light transmitting layer from the phosphor layer is transmitted by the light transmitting layer along upward direction.

USE - White LED for backlight unit of display device.

ADVANTAGE - The light extraction efficiency is enhanced.
